Postpartum tips
You'll receive tips and advice for breastfeeding, what to expect next and resources to help you recover physically and mentally.
Weekly check-ins
Each week, you’ll complete a short survey about how you’re feeling. You and your care advocate can then use these to track your physical and mental wellness and determine next steps.

Eligibility

Am I eligible for Postpartum Care?
If you delivered your baby in the last year and live in Texas, you are eligible.

Do I need a doctor referral?
No, you do not need a referral to join the program. You can sign up on your own, though your OBGYN may also recommend it during an appointment.

When should I start using the Postpartum Care app?
You can begin using the program and its digital tools as soon as you have had your baby and have enrolled in the program.
Insurance and cost

Is insurance required?
Insurance is not required for the program itself. If you have insurance coverage, your visits with your OBGYN or other specialists, like lactation counselors, will be billed to your insurance (co-pays may apply).

What is the cost for the Postpartum Care digital tool within the MyBSWHealth app?
There is no cost for the digital tools, Care Advocate messaging, and recovery-based information available to you as part of the Postpartum Care program.
Scheduling appointments

Are in-person appointments available?
The Postpartum Care program is a virtual program to extend the care you receive after being discharged from the hospital. If a specialist referral is made, some appointments may be offered in-person.

How long will it take until I can connect with my Care Advocate?
Postpartum Care is designed to provide you with timely and high-quality care. You can connect with your Care Advocate as soon as you enroll in the program.

How do I use Postpartum Care?
Once you have enrolled in the program, you can access your program dashboard through the MyBSWHealth mobile app and connect with your Care Advocate.

How can I work with my Care Advocate?
Your Care Advocate will answer any questions you have throughout your recovery journey. You’ll receive personal support and advice based on your questions. You can reach them via in-app messaging or by scheduling a virtual visit (video or phone). Business hours are between 8:30am and 4:00pm on weekdays, excluding national holidays.

What’s included in the Postpartum Care program?
You'll have access to a Care Advocate and time-based recovery information, connections to specialists, progress tracking, messaging, and scheduling.

What expertise does a Care Advocate have?
Your Care Advocate is a registered nurse with experience in caring for expectant and postpartum patients.

Do I need to be a resident of Texas for this program?
Yes, you will need to be a Texas resident to participate, unless you get access through your employer.

Do I need to be a patient at Baylor Scott & White?
No, you do not have to be a current Baylor Scott & White patient to enroll in virtual Postpartum Care.

How often should I use the Postpartum Care app?
As often as you need for the first year after delivery. There is no limit to the questions you can ask.

What happens if my baby is in the NICU?
Postpartum Care is personalized to your unique journey. If your baby has spent time in the NICU, let your Care Advocate know so they can update your profile. This will tailor the resources and education to support you through your NICU experience.
Sign up for MyBSWHealth
The Virtual Postpartum Care program can be found in the MyBSWHealth app. Creating an online account allows you access to the program’s many virtual care services. For virtual care for a child younger than 18, you or the child’s legal guardian must have an account linked to the child’s account first.
